HOW TO ENTER
Black and White Spider
Awards is open to professional and amateur photographers shooting
in all forms of black and white photography using traditional or digital
methods. We
encourage classic styles, new creative ideas and photographers who are
driven by their artistic eye and a desire to excel in this classic art form.

DEADLINES
Producing the Spider Awards is an
annual project and we receive thousands of images throughout the
year from entrants worldwide. To facilitate management of the images
and to ensure timely and accurate judging of the Awards, we have
implemented three deadlines during the entry period:
Early Entry Deadline January 31, 2009 - end
"2 for 1" Special
Early Closing Deadline April 24, 2009

Digital
Grayscale
or RGB mode, 72dpi
resolution, 1024 pixels
longest side, JPEG format at
maximum quality. Name

Prints
M aximum size of 11" x 14" and
not framed or mounted.
Attach
identification label to back of print.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

There is
no limit to the number of images you can enter.

There
are no restrictions on the date of photograph.

Published and unpublished work is accepted.

Photographers can
enter from any country worldwide.

Entry fees
are non-refundable and must be paid in full.

Credit
card payments are processed in USD, checks and bank transfers are
accepted in USD, GBP and EUR currency.
Photographs must be
black and white - no sepia or color tones in the image (images
received with tones or color will be converted to grayscale).
Images must have no border,
embedded marks or
logos.
Prints
and digital files will not be returned.
Winning images will be
requested at high resolution after the Presentation.
USAGE RIGHTS
Copyrights
of the photograph shall remain with the photographer at all times. However,
all entrants agree to grant Black
and White Spider Awards,
its owner World Photographic Arts
Corporation, and book|BASIL Publishing
permission to use the work
for promotional purposes, in any of their publications, electronic media or
printed materials, including web site, online galleries,
publications, calendar, yearbook, catalog, program book, trade show and
exhibition visuals, and marketing materials,
for a period of two years from the Nominations & Winners Presentation,
without further permission or remuneration. Entrants also understand the
work may be published in affiliated newspapers, magazines, and periodicals,
solely for the purpose of promoting the work, the photographer, and the
Black and White Spider Awards.
