Letters

Thank you all for the support, I can't still believe that this happens to me. But I' am very, very happy for it. Excuse me for my not so good English. English is not the language that my mother gave me, - hope you understand the most of my letter to you.
 

I hope this competition will be continued, I think it's very necessary
for us photographers. I am that kind of man with lots of visions, so I hope this will make me to meet art-directors from other countries than Sweden. That's one of my dreams, to work all over the world.  This could be a  good start, I don't know. I can promise you that, I will continue to participate to this competition.

I'D LIKE TO EXTEND MY THANKS TO YOU AND THE SPIDER AWARD JUDGING COMMITTEE FOR  HONORING ME WITH THE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN ADVERTISING PHOTOGRAPHY, AND A NOMINATION FOR PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR.
 
ALTHOUGH A CONSIDERABLE NUMBER OF MY VISUALS ARE  IN COLOR,  MY LOVE AND RESPECT FOR  BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY HAS NEVER WAVERED.
 
BLACK AND WHITE, AND COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY ENJOY A SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP.  ONE ISN'T  SUPERIOR TO THE OTHER, BUT SIMPLY DIFFERENT MODES OF PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPRESSION.  BOTH ARE EQUALLY SIGNIFICANT AND INDISPENSABLE,  JUST AS  IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO IMAGINE  A WORLD WITHOUT A  PICASSO, OR A MICHELANGELO  IN THE SPHERE OF PAINTING.
 
IN CLOSING, CONGRATULATIONS ARE NOT ONLY IN ORDER FOR THE AWARD WINNERS, BUT ALSO TO THE ENTIRE SPIDER AWARDS COMMITTEE FOR THEIR ENTHUSIASTIC DEVOTION TO  PERPETUATE THE BEAUTY AND POWER OF THE BLACK AND WHITE IMAGE.

I would just like to tell you how delighted I was to be nominated in
the finals of the still life section of the black spider awards.  I
look forward to receiving the calendar and I look forward to next
year's competition. I was most impressed by the list of judges
involved. Could you give me some indication of the number of entrants overall?

Of all the award shows, only the Spider Awards truly represent the
passion, dedication, and art of black and white photography. I am truly honored to have won an outstanding achievement award from the elite panel of judges from around the world that share this passion and appreciation for black and white photography.

Also, do I qualify for the fellowship ribbon or similar (something to impress my friends and family with obviously!) 

I am in awe of the work presented at the Spider Awards by my colleagues from around the world. Image after image reinforces all that is great in the medium of black and white photography. In this context, to be named "Photographer of the Year" is an honor of the highest magnitude.

An extraordinary Jury along with the benchmark organizations involved, make recognition from the Spider Awards very special.
 

Thank you, for the opportunity to show my work and I'm looking forward to what I'm sure is a breathtaking calendar. 

That’s really an achievement, so congratulations to you and all who worked on this event. Very impressive judges, too. And yes, the images are amazing. I am quite knocked out by being in this company.

It was the first contest for me and could get the 2nd prise.
So, I'm very glad to hear the good result.

I'll start my new life as a professional photographer from next April. So if you'll have this awards next year, I'll take part in as a professional category.

I just wanted to say thanks for this competition, and for choosing my photo “Rift” as a prize winner.  Considering the judges involved and the very high quality of the other entries, I’m even more honored.  It was also lots of fun “watching” the awards ceremony live on my computer, and then following that up with a great Turkey dinner!

Your contest is very interesting and the presentation is very current. I enjoyed the process last year and am happy to come back again. It is a great venue. However, your winners in the people category lean towards journalism in their style. I think there should be a split and include studio so that many others including myself have an opportunity to compete against the other more popular photographs that were chosen.
