Biography: We all see the same things, but what differentiates photographers is both how we see them and more importantly how we interpret them. My interpretation begins with black and white images. My love of black and white photography centers on a desire to alter the subjects inherent colored reality in order to see the defining essence of the subject. The colors we see with our eyes are stripped away and we are left with shapes, tones and contrasts, which I believe to be the defining essence of the subject. Long exposures allow me to further pinpoint the subjects defining essence as they smooth away...
