USA Nominee People Amateur "Pata's Hands" My 97 year old grandmaother' hands show the love she gave all of us before her passing. My journey in photography began on my 12th birthday when I was given an instamatic camera. The idea of capturing life's moments and the people I am surrounded by intrigued me so. To be able to look back at a place in time that may otherwise be wiped from memory inspired me to continue learning and discovering what could be done with a simple photograph. Nostalgia has always been important in my work, and I try to evoke that feeling in my textured images. I am inspired by the vintage look of yesteryear and the color tones of old photographs. |
