Zig Koch
Brazil Nominee Nature Professional "Sea of Dunes" The clouds create a very special effect. Zig Koch Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from PUC-PR in 1982 and practiced the profession until 1986 when he definitively opted for photography. His work is mainly focused on tourism and nature photography, including landscapes, fauna, flora, and macro photography. He gives lectures and photography courses. He promotes Photographic Experiences, which are trips between Brazil and abroad focused on photographic experiences. He is the author of photographs in 21 books, 10 books under his publishing label Olhar Brasileiro. He has held 22 exhibitions, 5 of which were international. He has received several awards, notably: Nikon Photo Contest International in 2007 and Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2013. He is a founding member of the Brazilian Association of Nature Photographers (AFNATURA). In 2023, he was awarded the Commendation of the Order of Light of the Pines of Curitiba in recognition of his photographic work for the protection of nature and the promotion of tourism. He was part of the RPC campaign "BICHO DO PARANÃ" for its prominence in promoting the state in 1996 and again in 2025. |
