USA Honorable Mention Nature Amateur "Oreo Trees" Snow Covered Beech Trees, Kirchheim-Teck, Germany Jürgen Dopatka’s interest in photography goes back to his first darkroom work in his early teens. During his 20s Jürgen drifted towards a very strong focus on graphical elements, opening up unique possibilities of artistic expression. It evokes curiosity how he discovers shapes, surface, lighting, reflection and texture in a variety of seemingly mundane subjects that would elude most casual observers. His imagination thrives on subjects involving patterns and repetitions, such as in modern architecture and nature. Jürgen has had major photo shows in Germany and has participated in numerous group shows in the U.S. and Germany throughout the years. He continues to participate in national and international photo competitions, where he received prize awards and had numerous works published.
