Martino Cusano

Pianura Pontina - ITALY Martino Cusano‘s work as a conceptual photographer does not only capture the performance of humanity on the stage of life, but also engages with architectural and interior design projects through visual storytelling. Born in 1965, Cusano is immersed in photography, art, and visual communication projects. He actively participates in fine arts, contributing to both permanent and temporary installations. Another passion of his is designing lighting systems. Although Cusano has his own studio, he remains open to collaborations in various environments. The influence of masters such as Sanders, Sugimoto, Fellini, and Hitchcock is distinctly visible in the author’s imagery. It permeates the inner depth of Cusano’s portraits, expressed through hermeticism filled with symbolic nuances. This influence is evident beneath the circus tent where his subjects move, in his meticulous attention to detail, and in the dynamic interaction between spaces. Cronology Since 1985, after completing his studies at the IED (European Institute of Design), he gained recognition for his work in photojournalism, black and white print, architectural research, and portraiture. In 1995, in Latina, he launched the Stamperia San Marco 14 project, offering professional filming and manual printing services. The project evolved into a focal point for events and professional collaborations until its conclusion in 2007. Since 2007, Cusano has contributed to the advertising campaigns of Naici Italia. The alchemy of physical and chemical reactions is now a heritage of his past. Cusano’s vocation for analog photography leaves room for new perspectives offered by the digital revolution. In 2012-13, he created the ANCESTRALE collection, an innovative ambient light system, and designed the NOMADE system for accent lighting. In 2019, he presents the exhibition NUOVAâ PELLE (New skin) in Rome, then in Latina at The Space In 2020, he established the ITUSPHOTO brand, focusing on visual storytelling, interior photography and architecture.
