"A Helping Hand"
A son gives a helping hand to his mother as they walk from their shelter down a dirt road.
Biography: I had always been photographing my family, but when my son was born with many special needs, photography became a challenge. Among many of his special needs, he has Autism; getting him to look at the camera was nearly impossible. I know so many parents like myself who didn't have any great photographs of our child. Taking him to a photographer was quite honestly sad and torture for all of us. They just didn't understand how to work with him.
