My love of photography began while still a boy in Harare. I used to sneak into my father's office and play with the cameras in his bags. On my 16th Birthday I received my first camera a 35mm rangefinder (Helena) from my sister. I was hooked. This fascination has led me on a 20+ year journey as a professional photographer. I have been blessed to have been under the guidance of the late R.A. Muronda (my father) a renowned portrait photographer. Who in 1948 paved the way for black photographers by being the first African to open a portrait studio in Salisbury, Rhodesia (what is now known as Harare, Zimbabwe) and an older brother a writer/filmmaker.
I received my formal training and education in Harare, Zimbabwe and Temple University in Philadelphia. My love for photography has inspired me to see beauty in everything I photograph. My son Kudakwashe is following in the footsteps of his grandfather R.A. Muronda. Kudakwashe who is 9 was a nominee in the 10th Annual International Color Awards. My wife-Juliana was a nominee as well. We are never far from a camera! } ?>
