Italy Nominee People Amateur "Polka dot & stripes" Old man walking through the shades on a bridge, Rome I was born in 1977 in Rome where I am still based. My main themes are street, still life and abandoned places. I began shooting photographs fascinated by the many dismantled factories standing in the area I lived in for years, focusing on small details that are usually unnoticed, delicate and sometimes strangely contrasting with the crumbling and austere aura of abandoned places. Subsequently I transposed my search for this sense of loss, solitude and isolation on the city streets, giving people the main role in my shots which are mostly set in the harsh background of the outskirts. My work is arranged into two series: "Black tales", focused on places and still life under a darker look and "White Tales", dedicated to the city streets and passers-by. |
