Hazel McPherson
UK Nominee Still Life Amateur "Tap End" Two old baths in a field Hazel McPherson started taking photos with her mum's old Kodak Instamatic camera and soon became mesmerised by the wonder of photography and the technology behind it. Originally from Nottinghamshire, UK she studied fine art and graphics at sixth form college before embarking on a highly successful career in IT which has led to a Chartership from the British Computer Society. Hazel moved to Bristol, UK in August 2010 after falling in love with the city some years ago whilst on holiday in Somerset. Wanting to pursue her love of photography, Hazel has spent many years exploring her creative talents and defining her photographic styles before holding her first exhibition earlier in 2011. Hazel describes each photograph she takes as a unique adventure and she has been known to use some interesting techniques, which have included a welder’s mask and a sink plunger!
