Arnfinn Johansen Norway 1st Place - Outstanding Achievement Wildlife Professional "Wolf and Brown Bear" The image shows a free roaming wolf and brown bear photographed in the wilderness on the Finnish-Russian border at my good friend and nature photographer Lassi Rautiainen´s place in Kuhmo, Finland. The brown bear is feeding and the male wolf´s face really shows how eager he is getting his share. What often happens is that a pack of wolfs outnumber and surrounds the bear. Then the bear will try to chase away the wolfs, and while doing so one of the other wolfs quickly will steal the food. Being audience to that play really is amazing. |
