His early portraiture work was mainly for record labels and editorials photographing famous musicians and celebrities, working extensively between London, New York, Los Angeles and Japan. This is where he began to develop his retouching techniques alongside his photography, in order to realise a complete integrity and cohesiveness within the imagery he was creating. Musicians gave way to working on high profile advertising campaigns such as: David Beckham/FIFA and David Beckham/Adidas campaigns (TBWA, Hill & Knowlton), conceptual fashion/CGI pieces, an exhibition in London featuring his large-scale portraits of Formula One drivers, to global advertising campaigns for BAT (Grey, G2, Joshua). Imagery from this campaign was also featured in the book and accompanying exhibition entitled Photography In Advertising. People in the Automotive industry took note of the work Rip was producing in 2004, and he was approached to start applying his vision to cars. He is now internationally recognised for his stylised automotive work. Rip was chosen by renowned camera manufacturer Hasselblad to exclusively provide automotive imagery for the global launch of their flagship model the H4D-200MS. Rip now uses the H4D-200MS, which brings an astounding 200 megapixel resolution to high-end photography. Rip was also asked to judge the Hasselblad International Masters Awards 2012. A selection of his automotive work has just been published in the book 'Victor - Photography Book One'. Twelve photographers worldwide were selected for this first edition, other contributors include Anton Corbjin, Mark Zibert, Edward Burtynsky, Rodney Smith and Tim Flach. As well as his ongoing automotive work, Rip is also in the process of completing some personal photography pieces involving portraiture as well as animals, for exhibition in the US and UK in 2013/14
