Biography: James Porto is an American photographic artist (b.1960). His constructed fantastical worlds balance the real with the unreal; the photographs are sumptuously rich in texture and detail. Throughout his career James has created thought provoking images that challenge the viewers sense of reality. He received a Bachelor of Science in Professional Photography degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1982, moved to New York City and began working as a photo assistant.
