"Watching"
From the "Behind the Eyes" animal portrait series, which aims to encourage you to consider animal consciousness and what an animal may “think” or feel as it looks straight back into your eyes...
Biography: There is an intriguing aspect to looking beyond the obvious; to capture detail, shape and pattern hidden in plain sight, and to explore its symmetry, light and texture.
The textural component often provokes a desire in viewers to reach out to touch the prints, as though the subject appears almost real, such as with the fur of a lion's mane.
I work to capture not just the subject but also a visual representation of the fleeting emotion I felt at the time the images were captured; encouraging the viewer to experience at least part of that same intangible sensation when they study my work.
