India Nominee Portrait Amateur "Pretty Lady from Tibet" Pretty Lady from Tibet, Darjeeling, India. 2014 I was born in 1980, in New Delhi, India. Grew up to be a photographer, e-marketing consultant and a graphic designer. My education in photography has mostly been self learnt via internet, books and various journals. I have been involved in photography since childhood when my father gifted me my first manual SLR camera. I view the art of photography as a subtractive process, a distilling of reality into a personal vision. As such I often use the tools of modern photography – different film stocks, filters, digital enhancement – to try to capture in an image the emotions I felt at the moment I tripped the camera’s shutter. Through photography I seek to document my personal experiences; to capture scenes and events as I see them and to share with others the beauty and diversity of the world I’ve seen. As the images of other photographers have inspired me to explore the world, I hope my own contributions will inspire others to do the same. I click various subjects - street, documentary, portraits, people, lifestyle, architecture and I have even clicked myself to express myself. My work has been used and published for various corporates and publications. I have participated in various art exhibitions and have showcased my work in India, Norway and US. I am sharing some of my work here with you, and hope you like it. |
