"Grain Elevator #1"
Grain from ships sailing the Great Lakes was dropped off and stored in the elevators and later used to brew beer. They are now abandoned.
Biography: Steve Siegel purchased his first camera at the age of 58. With camera in hand, he then proceeded to reexamine and photograph the places that, as a lifelong resident of Buffalo, NY he had been exposed to, but perhaps had not really �seen.� He generally prefers to work in black and white, feeling that this is the most evocative medium to capture the true essence of the post-industrial cities that he is so fond of photographing.
