"Hoping For A Catch"
Homeless men fishing for small change in the south of France

Having grown up with a strong background in creative arts, photography has become another means of artistic expression for me. I have since consolidated my skills, studying at both Photography Studies College, Melbourne and Tasmanian Polytechnic, Hobart to achieve an Advanced Diploma in Creative Product Development (Photo-Imaging). With an interest in all aspects of photography, my passion lies in photographing people – I hope to create powerful and captivating portraits that give the viewer a glimpse into my subject’s personality and soul. Since focussing on portraiture in late 2011, I feel incredibly honoured to have been awarded First Place in the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize 2012, First Place in the Click 11 Photography Prize, been selected as a finalist and received a Merit Award in the Picture This Photography Prize and received numerous Merit Awards in other competitions both nationally and internationally. In 2009, I held my first solo exhibition, ‘The Island’ at ONBA, Hobart and I have since held a number of solo exhibitions as well as being involved in numerous group exhibitions.
